Agribusiness: Moldova-Romania joint ventures to be created near the border
Moldovan agricultural producers will have a chance to open joint processing enterprises within the Romanian border raions (up to 30 km from the border), Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc said at a press conference on Tuesday.
He said that such agreement was reached at his recent meeting with his Romanian colleague Mihai Dumitru.
"The setting-up of joint ventures with the participation of Moldovans on the territory of Romania will facilitate the development of Moldova's agrarian sector, as well as economic relations between two countries", Valeriu Cosarciuc considers.
He remarked that Romanian experts will render technical and financial assistance to Moldova in the reform of the agricultural legislation, as well as in implementing the countries' common plans in such segments of the agrarian sector as plant growing, plant protection, livestock breeding, food industry, winemaking, mechanization.
In the minister's words, Romania will give an access to its up-to-date plant protection laboratories and expertise transfer to Moldovan partners.
At the meeting the sides signed the Action Plan in the Agrarian sector, Food Industry, Sanitary-Veterinary Field and Food Security for 2010-2011.
