Austrian company to invest 14 million Euro in Moldova

A new international corporation launches in the Republic of Moldova with the Ministry of Economy’s support. The Austrian company Gebauer & Geiller will invest more than 14 million euro in the Free Economic Zone of Balti. The information was given by the administration of the Austrian company during a meeting with the Minister of Economy, Valeriu Lazar.

The Moldovan official said that the country’s economic development may happen only within the framework of the industrial sector development.

“You have our whole support in developing this industrial project and we assure you that you will learn that one can come to Moldova not only with simple technology, but also with industrial projects which imply specialized technology; that’s because our people can rapidly learn their responsibilities and gain the necessary skills,” said Valeriu Lazar.
The company’s manager emphasized that such an investment will create more than 100 jobs for engineers and qualified workers, and the minimum wage will be eight thousand lei.

In the summer of 2013 the Austrian company will launch its first supply of products labeled “Made in Moldova”.

Gebauer & Geiller is headquartered in Austria. It has been on the market for more than 70 years. The company produces cables for automotive industry. More than 5,000 people are currently employed.
