Commercial banks are willing to redistribute the debts
Commercial banks are willing to start the redistribution procedure for the crediting debts of the agricultural producers and do have a credit portfolio in the necessary volume to ensure their applications. The statement was made by Governor of the National Bank, Leonid Talmaci, on Wednesday, March 11, in a meeting for the examination of the situation in the agrifood sector called by President Vladimir Voronin.
According to the press service of the Presidency, during the meeting it was noted that among the problems experienced by the farmers are the lack of markets for their products, circulating money, low possiblities for agricultural producers to benefit from bank crediting, very high interest rates, processing enterprises’ failure to pay for the raw material.
In the circumstances of insufficient financial means faced by the agricultural producers, it is problematic to buy petrol products, fertilizers, phytosanitary products, seeds necessary for the spring works.
According to the cited source, during the meeting it was noted that the state of the fall sowing is satisfactory. After the low quantity of precipitations, the 2009 agricultural year might be attributed to the humidity ensured category, which is favourable for sowing spring cultures.
