Farmers that lost crops as a result of floods will receive compensations
The agricultural land owners that lost their crops as a result of this year’s floods will be offered compensations. The Government Monday decided to allocate 15.3 million lei from the funds collected in an account specially opened for the purpose.
The money will be allotted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which will later distribute them to land owners according to the regulations approved by the Government at the same meeting.
The flood waters affected 3,318 hectares of agricultural fields owned by economic entities and 1,514 hectares belonging to private individuals.
According to the assessments of the governmental working group, the floods caused damage totaling US$120 million.
The Ministry of Finance said that about 17 million lei has been collected in the account opened for raising funds for flood victims by August 22.//REPORTER.MD
