GM recalls 98,000 Chevy Cobalt cars
DETROIT, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- General Motors Corp. said Wednesday it was recalling more than 98,000 Chevrolet Cobalt cars in the United States and Canada to improve head-impact protection.
The recall of 98,707 2005-2006 Cobalt sedans, known as the Pontiac Pursuit in Canada, affects cars not equipped with optional roof-mounted side-impact air bags, the automaker said.
No injuries were related to the recall, a GM spokesman said, adding the head-impact protection would only affect motorists not wearing seat belts.
Dealers will install energy-absorbing plastic to improve head-impact protection, General Motors said. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
