Honda opens Midwestern consolidation center
American Honda Motor Co. has inaugurated the $89 million Midwestern Consolidation Center in Troy, Ohio, to meet the supply requirements of Honda's nine other parts distribution centers throughout the US.
American Honda is working with the US Green Building Council (USGBC) to earn the organization's Gold rating Leadership in Energy and environmental Design (LEED) certification including many energy-saving qualities like an Energy Star reflective roof which reduces heat absorption and lowers air conditioning requirements; reclaimed water used for landscaping; and an intelligent lighting system that makes greater use of natural light.
Honda’s Midwestern Consolidation Center is constructed with environment-friendly products and materials and has been designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and environmental Design (LEED) certification by the (USGBC).
The 549,000 square foot facility is located on 58 acres adjacent to Honda's existing parts distribution center and will timely enhance distribution of parts and materials and improve inventory management, due to which the Center will not be able to provide the highest level of service to customers.
