IMF report: Moldova has the highest concentration of ATMs worldwide

Moldova has the highest concentration of ATMs worldwide, while Cyprus has the highest concentration of trade banks per capita in the world, shows a report of the International Monetary Fund, quoted by incomemagazine.ro.

According to IMF report, Republic of Moldova (3.6 million people) had a number of 300 ATMs per 100.000 people in 2011, outpacing Canada with 208 ATMs per 100.000 people, Australia and Spain with 166 ATMs and France with 110 ATMs per 100.000 people. The report doesn’t specify the number of ATMs in Great Britain and USA.

With 104 trade banks per 100.000 people, Cyprus had the highest concentration of trade banks per capita in 2011, while South Sudan had 0.5 trade banks per 100.000 people. Cyprus outpaces other financial centers, such as Luxembourg (89 trade banks per 100.000 people) and Switzerland (51 trade banks per 100.000 people), shows the data collected by IMF.

According to IMF report, USA has 35 trade banks per 100.000 people, France – 41 and Spain – 90. The data on Great Britain are not available.
