Investment in fixed capital up 12.3%
Investment in fixed capital in Moldova over January-June 2008 totaled 5.516,5 billion lei (US$568.7 million), an increase of 12.3% year on year.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the construction-assembly works came to 3. 061,7 billion lei (US$315.6 million), up 5.1% compared with the corresponding period last year. As many as 235,800 square meters of dwelling were put in commission in the given period, down 2.6%.
The private companies made most of the investments. The own resources of the economic entities and the population and the foreign investment were the major sources of investment in Moldova in the first half of this year.//REPORTER.MD
