Investprivatbank's depositors apply for the return of their money
The branches of the commercial bank which is under liquidation, Investprivatbank, today started receiving applications from depositors to return the full amount of deposits, including the interest rate, during two or three days.
Thus, the depositors should get an account extract at the Investprivatbank branches where they had the deposit, and then open an account with the Banca de Economii (Savings Bank), which took over the insolvent bank. Afterwards, the transfer will be made, and the deposits will receive their money. This procedure will take two to three days till the depositors manage to take their money back.
At the same time, the depositors who would like to extend their deposits at the Banca de Economii, which gave assurances that it has enough liquidities to fulfill all the obligations before Investprivatbank depositors, are allowed to do so.
The overall deposits of the Investprivatbank amount to 900 million lei (57 million euros), of which 600 million lei belong to private people.
The National Bank (NBM) revoked the licence of Investprivatbank on 19 June, saying that the bank was in the red, had an inadequate management, and presented false reports.
