Israeli baker fights for U.S. trademark
An Israeli bakery has filed court papers claiming another Israeli bakery and a U.S. importer have stolen its U.S. trademark.
Matzot Aviv Ltd., a matzos maker since 1887 that ships more than a million pounds of matzos to the United States each year, filed papers that claim it's trademark Aviv
is being used by Patisserie Aviv, another Israeli bakery whose products are imported by Bagel Bites USA Inc.
Matzot Aviv sent Bagel Bites a cease-and-desist
order, which was ignored, the New York Post reported Monday.
Bagel Bites' owner, Ofel Elia, told the Post the fight is between the two factories
in Israel.
