March inflation in Moldova was 0.8%
The March prices in Moldova went up 0.8% on the average, and up 5.8% in comparison to March 2010. The data has been provided by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
According to the NBS experts, the inflation was mostly influenced by service prices that were increased by 1.7%. Foodstuff went up 0.7% and non-foodstuff up 0.3% in prices.
Most considerable price growth was registered for railroad fare (+3.8%), utilities (+3.1%), kindergarten fee up 2.7%), restaurant and cafeteria food (up 2.4%).
Among foodstuff, the most price increase is observed on sugar (up 12.1%), beet (up 5.2%), onion (+4.1%), apples (+2.5%).
Among non-foodstuff, car spares went up in price the most (+4.6%), as well as oil products (up 4.2%) and construction materials (+2.3%).
However, the NBS experts registered a price increase on eggs (down 4.4%), mutton (-2.6%), medicines (-1.6%) and citruses (-1.1%0.
The NBS said that, if one does not take into consideration foodstuff and beverages, fuels, regulated tariff goods and services, the March inflation is almost unnoticeable - only 0.2%.
