Masked persons steal 220,000 lei from Eximbank
Two masked persons have stolen 220,000 lei (16,600 dollars) from a branch of Eximbank Gruppo Veneto Banca.
Knowledgeable sources in the municipal police told BASA that masked and armed persons with a carbine and a pistol broke into the branch of Eximbank SA Gruppo Veneto Banca in Cuza Voda street in Chisinau on November 18 at around 09:00.
They fired a shot in a wall, threatened a security agent, stole a bag from cashier and quitted the building. They stole an amount of money in lei and foreign currency equivalent to 220,000 lei.
"The police has held operative investigations but did not identify the robbers so far," the sources told under condition to remain anonymous.
Official representatives of Eximbank SA Gruppo Veneto Banca avoided comments on this case.
