MoE adopts regulations on gastarbeiter money attraction according to pare 1+1 program
The MoE [Ministry of Economy] Organization on SME [small and medium enterprise] Development has adopted regulations of implementing and assessing the PARE 1+1 program for 2010-2012, which is aimed to attract gastarbeiter [Moldovan citizens - guest workers in other countries] money to the Moldovan economy. The program provides that Moldovan working migrant will have 1 leu from the state per each leu invested by him into the state economy. International financial organizations will also participate in the program financing.
According to the program controlling committee, there can participate in the program gastarbeiters or their immediate relatives in the republic who intends to invest into a new private enterprise or into development of an existing enterprise. The participant must be Moldovan citizen; he must present documentary confirmation that money he intends to invest were gained abroad. Investing into business creation or development, migrants can obtain grants from the state to the amount of up to 200 thousand lei. The information about program will be provided via Moldovan consulates overseas.
According to its authors, there were taken into consideration best examples of other countries that overcame similar phases of the economy development, when its economy was considerably supported by gastarbeiters.
The specially created program controlling committee will be responsible for the adoption and rejection of program applications; the committee includes members of the Government, representatives of international financial organizations and institutions.
The PARE 1+1 program will officially start on Monday, November 22.
