Moldova and Bulgaria to activate cooperation in economy

Moldova and Bulgaria are interested in using the potential of bilateral economic relations, strengthening of partnership between business circles of two countries, including by means of setting up joint enterprises. It was said at a meeting in Plevna between the Presidents of Moldova and Bulgaria Vladimir Voronin and Gheorghy Pyrvanov.

As Infotag has already reported, Vladimir Voronin paid a one-day working visit to Bulgaria on the invitation of his Bulgarian colleague to participate in the celebrations, devoted to 130 anniversary since the liberation of Plevna.

Vladimir Voronin underlined Bulgaria’s constant support for Moldova’s efforts for European integration and Gheorghy Pyrvanov reassured that Bulgarian authorities will continue supporting Moldova in its way to the EU and in searching for the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.

Bulgaria’s President expressed gratitude to the Moldovan authorities for creating wide possibilities for the cultural development and the establishment of the national identity of the Bulgarian Diaspora in Moldova.

At the celebration Vladimir Voronin remarked that more than 12 thousand Moldovans participated in the battles of the Russian-Turkish War. He recalled that the campaign of the Russian Army for the liberation of Bulgaria began in Chisinau, which is the capital city of Moldova now.

“We know, how frank were sentiments of my compatriots, thousands of whom entered voluntarily the Danube Army, the Bulgarian brigades of volunteers. Shipka, Plevna, Stara Zagora and Sheinoe are undoubtedly the names, which had its echo in many families, which cherish the memory of heroes of that just war, in Moldova until the present”, the President said.

The Presidents of two countries laid flowers to the Church of St, George the Victorious and opened a memorial plaque in the honor of Moldovan volunteers, fallen in the fields of the Russian-Turkish War. // Infotag
