Moldova demands Russia to explain vegetable and fruit export restrictions

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has sent to the sanitary departments of Russia an official request to be explained reasons of cutting the number of vegetable-fruit suppliers to Russia. The information was provided by Agriculture Minister Valeriu Cosarciuc.

According to him, the ministry hopes to receive arguments for why 33 companies have the right to export these goods to Russia, although many of these companies are little known and came to the market not long ago.

Cosarciuc said if Moldovan products would contain many pesticides, as media said, both Russian and Moldovan authorities would not give hygiene and phytosanitary certificates to exporters.

"Some Moldovan exporters have already received in advance money from Russian companies for vegetable and fruit supply, and now the RosSelKhozNadzor say it the products are poor. We will attentively analyze the case and will conduct urgent negotiations to solve the problem", minister said.
