Moldova Economics minister: no salary arrears in budgetary sector
No salary arrears have been recorded in the budgetary sector since early 2009, while the situation is more difficult in the real sector, Deputy Prime Minister, Economics and Trade Minister Igor Dodon said at a Monday's government meeting.
Dodon specified that, on 1 May 2009, the economic agents' salary arrears amounted to 127 million lei (over eight million euros) in the real sector.
The deputy prime minister stressed that the real sector's wage payment fund has dropped over the last months, which means that staff redundancies were made, and the working time reduced.
Finance Minister Mariana Durlesteanu told last week that there are no delays in the payment of salaries, pensions, scholarships and other social payments.
The minister gave assurances that these payments will be paid in full and in the established period during the next months as well.
