Moldova reports higher unemployment rate in 2010
The number of the unemployed increased by 11,000 people in 2010 against 2009, reaching 92,000, according to data by the National Statistics Bureau (BNS).
As much as 62.3 per cent of the unemployed were men, and 62.4 per cent were people from urban areas.
BNS specialists said that 73.7 per cent of all the jobless had labour experience. The average duration of unemployment was 13 months against 14 months in 2009.
In 2010, there were about 311,000 people reported working or seeking jobs abroad. As much as 63.7 per cent of them were men. As many as 70.9 of those who left abroad were from rural areas.
