Moldova to continue reformations on canceling customs duties
Moldova will continue reformations on cancelling customs duties, which do not meet standards of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the legislation of the European Union (EU).
These regulations are included in the Action Plan on the implementation of the European Commission's recommendations for establishing a deep and comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and the EU, approved by the Government.
According to the document, the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Service must review actual customs service tariffs in the 2nd quarter of 2011, and adjusted in accordance with the WTO regulations and EU laws if necessary.
At the same time, these 2 organizations will continue efforts for providing the application of uniform customs legislation in the whole country territory and a control over the illegal trade via Transnistria.
The plan also provides the shaping and coordination jointly with the European Commission of a common statistic-data raising concept, including in the field of foreign trade.
The program provides in the field of sanitary and phytosanitary measures - the implementation of a food security complex strategy and the ensuring of a food security efficient system.
The program will last during the 2011-2015 period, but the main part of measures must be executed in 2011.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said recently the Government's purpose is to finish the implementation of the 1st group conditions in 1Q2011, which are necessary for starting negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement with the EU.
"It is important our European partners to see that we are able to implement established tasks, not only to declare them", the Deputy Premier said, adding the most difficult part is the quality infrastructure, especially in the sanitary and phytosanitary field.
