Moldova to draw entire quota on wine supply to EU

Moldovan has almost drawn the wine exporting quota to the European Union market, and the Government will have the possibility to satisfy only 8% of economic agent supply offers for the EU till the end of this year.

The statement was made Deputy Economy Minister Octavian Calmic during the Wednesday meeting with representatives of 18 companies that exported wines to the European Union last years. The meeting was organized in response to numerous addresses of economic agents for the purpose to inform interested persons about existing free parts of Moldovan quota and about the distribution procedure.

Calmic said according to the Government decision, the EU goods exporting authorizations issuing is executed "under the general regulation - which came first, these will have it".

"The procedure is free for each bunch", Calmic said.

Till the moment, the register for earned applications in order of its receiving and authorization issuing was under the jurisdiction of the Economy Ministry, but it will be passed to the Register Palace competence which is subordinated to the Ministry.

Calmic said to experts about the EU promise to increase the Moldovan wine quota for the European Union countries from 10 million liters per year presently to 15 million liters in 2011 and 2 million - in 2012.

According to him, the optimism is also caused by "the active preparation for negotiations on the Free Advanced and Universal Commerce with the European Union that excludes customs duties, including those on wines".
