Moldovan authorities push up power rate
The National Energy Regulatory Agency of Moldova (ANRE) approved new tariffs on electricity.
The tariff will be built up 11.3% to 1.48 lei per 1 kW/hour for most consumers - population that is connected to low tension chains within the RED Union Fenosa enterprise [electricity distributor].
In northern raions, served by the RED Nord and RED Nord-Vest state companies, the growth reached 9.8% - to 1.57 lei per 1kW/hour.
The power distribution enterprises asked authorities about a bigger increase, justifying it by the changed electricity purchase price that was built up 11% since April 1, as well transportation costs.
For the first time, the Agency adopted differentiated tariffs depending on the chains the consumers are connected to. (More details will follow later on).
