Moldovan company will open grocery chain in Saint Petersburg
The Moscow Unimarket store chain, which is affiliated with the Moldovan producer and exporter of alcohol Wine International Project, will open a grocery chain in Saint Petersburg. According to Russian press reports, ten shops will be opened in the city, while 20-30 in Leningrad region.
The shops will occupy an area of 500 to several thousand square meters. The amount of investment has not been specified.
Unimarket started to work in 2006. The press then wrote that Unimarket intended to invest US$160 million in opening new shops in Russia together with the co-owner of the chain, Wine International Project (WIP).
The names of the present co-founders are not made public. "Among the owners are individuals that own assets in Moldovan and Russian wine companies,” the director general of Unimarket SRL, Alexandr Zara said. According to unofficial sources, the company WIP, which works under the brand name Garling Collection, is owned by the family of President Vladimir Voronin. //REPORTER.MD
