Moldovan economics ministry issues 1,724 authorizations for export to EU
The Economics Ministry (ME) issued 1,724 authorities on export to the European Union to Moldovan enterprises on 1 January - 20 October 2010, the ME's public relations service has said.
As many as 755 certificates were issued for wine export. Thus, according to the authorizations issued to wine exporters, 99.9 per cent of the quota given by the EU to this group of goods was distributed.
On this period, the Economics Ministry issued 183 authorizations for the export of barley, with the quota being covered at 90.35 per cent. As many as 263 authorizations were issued for maize, which implies the turning to account of the quota at the level of 84.03 per cent.
As many as 523 authorizations were issued for wheat export to the EU, whih makes 98.35 per cent of the quota.
As for the export of white sugar in preferential regime, no requests have been received on the issuance of export authorization since early 2010. The reason for this is a deficit of sugar recorded in Moldova for 2010, with the domestic production capacities being used to cover the consumption demand on the internal market.
The autonomous trade preferences (ATP) were given to Moldova on 1 March 2008 to liberalize the trade with the EU and ensure pre-requisites for the creation of a friendly economic environment and to attract investments. This allows Moldova not to pay taxes for a list of goods, according to the Economic Ministry's public relations service.
