Moldovan fruits showcased in Berlin
Moldovan agricultural products were presented in a fair in Berlin, Germany. Samples of apples and dried fruits were displayed in a three-day event in the German capital.
According to a press release, Moldova received great feedback from buyers and traders at the 2013 Fruit Logistica show. This event might help enhance the trade of agricultural goods between Moldova and the European Union since ten partnerships between producers and importers have been established.
Moldova presented their high value agriculture goods under the slogan “taste makes the difference” and was represented at the fair by farmers, producer groups, producer associations, donor projects, and the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
A participant at the show said that market diversification is an important asset at the moment since Russia – the largest consumer of Moldovan fruits – is looking for alternative ways to get fresh agricultural products.
“We need to keep a strong hold on Russia, start selling in Romania and other neighboring countries and think of the Baltic and Scandinavian markets in the near term,” the same participant said.
