Moldovan Government receives us$12.25 million from Gazprom
The Moldovan Government has received assistance from the Gazprom Russian company in the amount of US$12.25 million lei, which are designed for purchasing oil products for replenishing the state reserve.
According to governmental press service, this humanitarian aid was rendered, as result of agreement between Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, which was reached in the frame of Vladimir Voronin’s visit to Moldova on March 18.
“The Agency of Material Resources, State Procurement and Humanitarian Aid will use these financial resources to acquire fuel oil and diesel, which will be used for conducting agricultural works and providing the country’s energy security”, the statement says.
At a meeting in Moscow Dmitry Medvedev promised to grant 50 thousand tons of fuel oil to Moldova.
