Moldovan industrial production increased by 6.6%
The Moldovan industrial enterprises in January-June produced goods at the amount of 12.2 billion lei (US$985 million) which is by 6.6% more than year ago.
The increase is caused by the raise of production quantity in processing industry - by 7.8%. The industry quota in total volume is about 82.4%.
A largest increase is in production of tobacco goods - by 58.8% to 264.2 million lei, alcoholic beverages - by 35% to 230.2 million lei, wine - by 23% to 737.5 million lei.
At the same time, many commodity groups show a slump in goods production. It is concerned of mining industry - 88.6% from the past year level, woodworking industry - 69%, metal goods production - 75.6%.
The cargo volume transported in Moldova keeps on falling, though not so dramatically as previously. Moldovan carriers had transported in 1H2010 over 3.18 million tons of cargoes, which was merely 88.7% of that on 1H2009, when decline was about 37% compared to 2008.
