Moldovan PM says foreign investors may rely on government's support
Prime Minister Vlad Filat today met the leadership of an international insurance holding, Uniqa. Attending the meeting was State Minister Victor Bodiu, the government's press service has said.
The holding's director-general, Gerald Muller, thanked for the meeting, stressing that the goal of his visit to Moldova is to study the local investment opportunities.
Gerald Muller presented the company. He said that the holding holds over 49 per cent of the Austrian health insurances market and is a leader in the area. Uniqa has branches in 20 states of the region.
"We want to make long-term investments and build a business which will become profitable. Also, we are set to intensely promote the culture of health insurances among residents," Gerald Muller said.
The prime minister welcomed the company in Moldova, stressing that foreign investments are expected, and the government pays increased attention to this field. Vlad Filat also talked about the reforms started by the government and the expected results.
"Moldova's insurances market should be seen in the long run. Great projects are launched and will be launched in Moldova in different fields, and the component of insurances is always very important," the prime minister specified.
Vlad Filat also said that the foreign investors may rely on the Moldovan government's openness, noting that it is worth investing in Moldova.
