Moldtelecom announces new prices for fixed phone installation
Moldtelecom has announced new taxes for the installation of fixed telephones. From July 1, the installation of a wireless fixed telephone line Amplus costs 900 lei, as against 1,800 lei until present. Applications can be submitted to the local offices of Moldtelecom as from July 1.
According to Moldtelecom, the shifting of a telephone line from an address to another within a settlement costs 120 lei for individuals and legal entities, while the change of the phone number within the same type of telephone line costs 30 lei.
The installation of the fixed telephone lasts between 24 hours and one month. The length of the works depends on the used technology. The installation of a CDMA wireless telephone lasts for a day, while of the traditional phone – for two-four days. If a new telephone line must be set up, the installation works can last for a month.
The fixed-line telephone penetration rate in 2007 was 31.5%. Last year, Moldtelecom reported sales of 2.275 billion lei, an increase of about 10% on 2006. Its market shares decreased from 97.45% in 2006 to 96.98% in 2007.// Reporter.MD
