New flights between Moldova and Austria
Moldovans wishing to travel to European destinations will have more options as of March 31, when Austrian Airlines will start operating four extra flights a week.
The summer schedule, which starts at the end of March, includes two flights a day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Vienna (VIE) to Chisinau (KIV). On the way back, the passengers will have two options a day every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
“In addition to our daily flights, we will operate four extra flights a week to Chisinau (Moldova) during the summer schedule,” Wilhelm Baldia, spokesperson of the Austrian Airlines told MOLDOVA.ORG.
The new Vienna-Chisinau flight will depart at 9:30 PM from VIE and will arrive at KIV at 00:25 AM. On the return flight, the carrier will depart at 5:35 AM from KIV and will land at VIE at 6:35 AM.
The early flight is expected to make better connections for passengers who wish to travel to further Western European destinations.
Germany’s Lufthansa airline will also insert a new flight to Moldova on its Munich-Chisinau-Munich route as of March 31 due to high demand. The new flight will depart early in the morning at 6:50 AM from Chisinau International Airport and will arrive at Munich Airport at 8:05 AM local time.
Last month, Latvia’s airBaltic airline introduced a new flight to Moldova. Riga-Chisinau-Riga is now operated three times a week instead of the previous two.
