“The results achieved by Orange in Moldova are promising and Orange will continue to invest in development so that the quality of services and the level of innovations implemented in Moldova are in line with those in the European countries,” the executive director of the Orange Group and vice president of France Telecom, Olaf Swantee said while in Chisinau on a working visit.

According to Swantee, the rebranding in Moldova was the most successful one within the Group and the experience gained by Moldova is shared to other countries such as Jordan and Mauritius. “I am proud of the team that works for Orange in Moldova and I’m very optimistic about Moldova’s future,” Olaf Swantee said.

He expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Moldova is now part of the Group and benefits not only from an international brand that is worth US$14 million according to the international classification Millward Brown, but also one of the best in the area of mobile telephony.

“During a year, the average volume of traffic accessible to the clients has doubled, from 16 minutes per month for PrePay to about 50 minutes for the same price. We realized that the new services such as mobile TV, blog, the Orange World portal and other services launched by Orange are popular,” the vice president of France Telecom said.

Orange is the key brand of France Telecom, one of the world's leading telecommunications operators. France Telecom serves more than 170 million customers in five continents as of December 31, 2007, of which two thirds are Orange customers. The Group had consolidated sales of 52.9 billion euros in 2007. As of December 31, 2007, the Group had 109.6 million mobile customers and 11.6 million broadband internet (ADSL) customers.

In Moldova, Orange was launched on April 25, 2007. Presently, it has 1.4 million clients.//REPORTER.MD
