Over 150 companies from 16 countries participate in 2007 EXPOVIN Moldova exhibition
As many as 152 companies from 16 countries participate in the 16th issue of the International Specialised Exhibition EXPOVIN Moldova which was inaugurated today in Chisinau.
Thirty per cent of the companies participating in the exhibition are from abroad.
During four days, ordinary visitors will be proposed quality wines, and the participating enterprises have displayed equipment for the wine-making industry, package and accessories and vine cuttings for mutual information.
President Vladimir Voronin greeted the participants in the exhibition. The head of state said that, despite the ban on the export and sale of Moldovan alcoholic beverages in Russia, the vine-growing and wine-making branches continue to develop. An extra argument in this respect is the fact that the export to the Western European countries increased in 2006, and this index reaches now 25 per cent of all the exported wine production.
At the same time, Vladimir Voronin stressed that one of the foremost tasks of the Moldovan wine-makers is the improvement of the production's quality - an indispensable condition for the promotion of alcoholic beverages abroad. In this respect, the president declared for setting up representations of the Moldova-Vin Agricultural and Industrial Agency in diverse countries.
The participants shared the opinion that EXPOVIN Moldova, which was inaugurated 16 years ago, has become a genuine forum of wine-makers which is recognized on the international stage. Within the exhibition, Moldovan specialists have the possibility of discussing diverse issues regarding this branch, and to sign contracts with colleagues from abroad.
The organisers of the 2007 EXPOVIN Moldova International Specialised Exhibition are the Moldova-Vin Agricultural and Industrial Agency and the Company Poliproject Exhibitions which took an unprecedented decision - to offer free of charge exhibition area to Moldovan producers. The exhibition is staged at Moldexpo till 24 February. // Moldpres
