Power imports from Ukraine 7.3% up
Moldova imported 930.3 million kWh of power from Ukraine during the first four months of this year. This is by 7.3% more compared with the corresponding period last year.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Fuel and Energy, Moldova’s share in the total power exports of Ukraine rose from 22.4% to 39.9%. Now Moldova takes the second position by the volume of electric power imported from Ukraine, after Hungary, which has a share of 49.5%.
Over January-April 2008, Ukraine exported 2.328,8 billion kWh of power or by 39.7% less compared with the same period last year. Moldova purchases Ukrainian power for 4 cents per kWh. From June 1, 2008, the purchase price will rise by 10%, to 4.4 cents // Reporter.MD
