Publika TV station in Chisinau - 4.5 mln euro Romanian investment
Publika TV, the television station to start broadcasting in the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday, is the result of around 4.5 million-euro investment coordinated by a Realitatea-Catavencu team from Romania.
Publika TV, which will go on air on April 7, from 7 am, will be re-broadcast by most of the cable as well as satellite operators. ‘Publika TV will air news bulletins in Romanian and Russian every hour 24/7′, Maia Metaxa, the new TV station’s editor-in-chief of the news desk told. According to Metaxa, the TV station will host talk shows on topics such as politics, economy and social issues.
Stiri Media Grup Company in Chisinau, which operates Publika TV, is the partner of the Romanian Realitatea-Catavencu Group. At the end of last year, the Group announced the beginning of the process of buying the company which owned the news portal unimedia.md, deemed to be the most popular portal in the Republic of Moldova, as well as two other portals – vesti.md (online news in Russian) and LadyClub.md (online community targeted at women). The company’s representatives said that other project might follow soon, including the setting up of a radio station.
