On July 19, 2010, a delegation of the Constanta judet [district], Romania, led by Director General of the water-supply company Felix Stroe, visited the Su-canal municipal enterprise and familiarized with its activities.
According to the Comrat Primaria, Su-canal is an enterprise for serving water supply and sewerage systems of Comrat. The water supply and sewerage chains were put into operation in 1961. During 50 years, not a capital repairing of chains was carried out, though the wear level is 100%, which leads to about 70% water losses from artesian water well every month. The waste treatment facilities do not function. Not a departmental laboratory exists there. Over 600 accidents occur every year due to the wear of water supply and sewerage chains. Comrat consumers are ensured with water every day, but in conformity with an adopted water supply schedule. The enterprise debts are over 3.5 million lei.
