Renault denies interested in Jaguar and Land Rover

French carmaker Renault denied a British media report that said it was a possible bidder for Ford's luxury UK car brands Jaguar and Land Rover.

A Renault spokesman said that the company’s Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn declared that this kind of acquisition would bring nothing to Renault or the Nissan alliance in short term. According to Reuters, Renault made these comments after in London's City A.M. newspaper on Monday was published information saying that private equity firm Alchemy Partners was lining up a $5.9 billion bid for Land Rover and Jaguar and other possible bidders included Renault.
