Romanian official advocates ratification of financial aid for Moldova by parliament
Romanian Senate President Mircea Geoana has advocated the ratification by the Romanian parliament of the financial aid pledged to Moldova. Yet, the Romanian official did not name a timeframe for the ratification of the agreement on the non-refundable financial assistance.
Geoana, who was on a two-day working visit to Chisinau, said that Romania's most important foreign policy objective resides in ensuring conditions for Moldova's successful European integration.
Mircea Geoana had meetings with Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca today morning and is expected to meet the leaders of the parliamentary factions of the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) and acting President Marian Lupu in the afternoon.
Geoana said that while meeting the leaders of the parliamentary factions and the parliament speaker, he will discuss a twining programme for the Moldovan and Romanian parliaments, aimed at exchanging experience in the European integration field.
