Russia will consider importing pork from Moldova
The Russian Federation will examine the possibility of importing pork from Moldova as stipulated in the protocol formulated at the tenth meeting of the joint Moldovan-Russian commission for economic cooperation held in Moscow last week.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the document was signed by the Commission’s co-presidents – Moldovan Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon and Russian Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko.
At the meeting, the Moldovan delegation proposed opening the second customs post for exporting Moldovan agricultural products. Presently, all the agrifood products from Moldova are imported into Russia through a single customs post according to the ‘one-stop office’ system.
According to statistics, Russia is one of Moldova’s most important trade partners. Moldova’s exports to Russia over January-September 2008 totaled US$238.6 million, while imports from Russia came to US$447.04 million. REPORTER.MD
