Salvgardare association thinks Moldovagaz steals 2 billion lei per month from citizens
The Salvgardare people's association has said that the Moldovagaz Moldo-Russian natural gas supplying enterprise "steals over 2 billion lei from Moldovan population" every month.
During the press conference on Monday, head of the association Maya Laguta said that she has calculations and documents proving that.
"On Tuesday, at the request of consumers, the Association will organize a protest campaign in front of the Government edifice with the demand to stop the tariff increasing. The Government failed to meet the society's demand to look into the whole tariff policy and to inspect energy sector enterprises, including Moldovagaz", she said.
According to her, there is created "a whole corporation that enriches itself, gains excessive revenues, and a big part of the population leads a miserable life" in the republic.
"People are not able to pay the bills that will become bigger once the tariffs are increased", Laguta said.
She said that "household consumers pay for a state-standard cubic meter of gas as for a high-pressure gas, and have the low-pressure gas".
"If there are not taken measures and taken into account our demands, the protest action will become a daily one", Laguta said.
