Second mobile phone operator launches 3G services

The mobile phone company Orange has officially launched its third generation (3G) telephone network, which is available for all the clients that have a mobile telephone compatible with the given technology.

According to representatives of the company, the 3G services offer signal, voice, video calls, TV watching and Internet access services of a higher quality. After launched in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, the third generation network will be available in the other regions of Moldova as well.

Orange now provides live TV that will be gratis until December 31, 2008. The users can access eight channels that are available on the Orange World portal. Until November 30, 2008 the clients of Orange can make video calls in roaming at the price of voice calls.

All the clients of Orange that have a 3G telephone benefit from the 3G+ advantages automatically. The new users of Subscription packages can activate the 3G+ services when they purchase the package.

Moldcell was the first to launch the 3G services in Moldova, on October 1, 2008.
