Tariffs for electricity and heating produced by local power plants upped
On Friday, January 18, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) increased tariffs for the electricity and heating produced by the local line units, and the electricity distribution tariffs.
Thus, ANRE has increased the tariff for 1 kW produced by CET-1 from 86.63 bani to 113.6 bani/kWh; the tariff of an energy unit produced by CET-2 from 67.86 bani to 85.25 bani, and by CET-Nord to 89.6 bani/kWh compared with 82.16 bani as to date.
At the same time, ANRE increased from 322.92 lei up to 390.37 lei the tariff for a gigacalorie produced by CET-1, and for one produced by CET-2 the tariff upped from 241.11 lei to 289.28 lei/Gcal. The tariff for the consumers supplied with heating by CET-Nord was set at 634 lei/Gcal compared with 540 lei as before now.
The ANRE directors explained that they had increased the natural gas tariffs in connection with the fact that as of January 1 the Russian imported gas price rose from 170 USD up to 191 USD per one thousand cubic meters and, implicitly, led to the gas price raise for the energy companies.
On the other hand, CET representatives were vexed that the new tariffs are lower than they requested. They say that the new electricity and heating tariffs will not allow carrying out the necessary investments in the modernization of the production process and paying the debts they accumulated at Moldova-Gaz for the natural gas consumed so far.
During the same meeting, in parallel with the increase of the tariffs for producers, ANRE increased the electricity distribution tariffs too. Thus, the tariff set out for the supply of 1 kW to household consumers for the Union Fenosa Electricity Distribution Network (RED) is of 98 bani, by 2 bani more, and the clients of the Nord and Nord-Vest networks will pay 108 bani/kWh compared to the previous price of 101 bani/kWh. The consumers connected to the high voltage networks owned by Union Fenosa RED, of 110 kW, will pay a tariff of 71 bani/kWh, while consumers with electric stoves will pay a tariff of 94 bani/kWh.
During the ANRE sitting, Carlos Gonzalez Samano, President of UF RED Moldova, was dissatisfied with the tariff of 98 bani/kWh set out by ANRE, after what it informed that the company it represents asked for a tariff increased by 18 bani. President of UF RED hinted that ANRE is promoting favouritism and discrimination on the Moldovan energy market and stressed that the arguments will be made available for the public opinion.
