Three wines produced by Moldovan winemakers included in the catalogue of 1,000 best wines of the world
Three wines produced by Lion-Gri, Chateau Vartely and DK-Intertrade were awarded at the prestigious contest "Les Vinalies Internationales 2008" held in Paris, and are to be introduced in the catalogue of 1,000 best wines in the world ("1 000 Vins du Monde").
The catalogue is considered to be a renowned guide to world wines. The wine trademarks included in the world top are selected by renowned international experts. They taste the wines without knowing the trademark or its origin.
The contest jury was composed of qualified wine experts and it awarded an overall of 234 golden and 706 silver medals.
Moldova was awarded with one golden medal for the white sparkling wine Simposium 2004 produced by Lion Gri and with two silver medals for the red wines Merlot 2005 produced by Chateau Vartely SRL and Pinot Noir 2005 from the series "Firebird legend" produced by DK-Intertrade SRL.
The contest is organized by the International Union of Oenologists and the Global Federation of International Wine and Spirits Contests, and based on the results the catalogue of 1,000 best wines in the world is published annually.
In 2007 Moldova was also included in this catalogue with four wines produced by Acorex Wine Holding and two wines produced by Lion Gri.
