Transdniestria plans to obtain about US$8.7m

The authorities in Transdniestria approved the privatization program for 2009-2010. The 39 state units included in the program will be sold for approximately US$8.7 million overall.

According to the Transdniestrian economy minister Elena Chernenko, the previous privatization program was not fulfilled and a part of the unsold units will be privatized during 2009-2010. The privatization process in Transdniestria started in 2002.

Practically all the large enterprises in the region have been privatized meanwhile. Most of them were bought by Russian, German and Hungarian investors as well as local banks, companies or personnel.
