Transnistrian Gazprombank transforms into Businessinvestbank
The GazPromBank (close corporation) commercial bank of Tiraspol has decided to change its name into BusinessInvestBank (public corporation now) on the threshold of its 18th anniversary.
Head of the bank Executive Board Larisa Tugolukova said in an interview that the change was made for "making the brand a unique one, to go off the bank's wrong perception as a subsidiary of the GazPromBank of Russia.
"The staff announces about the work principle reconsideration by means of the new name, about the passage to a higher development level, new positioning as a bank. The renewed strategy basis includes the innovations, leadership and professionalism principles. But there are still present the activity priorities - safety and financial stability. The most important valuables for us are still clients and partners", she said.
According to Tugolukova, the bank does not adhere to an aggressive strategy, rather on the contrary, but keeps the right to offer new goods on good conditions to its clients.
One of the latest new products became the possibility to work with electron cash-boxes WebMoney. The bank is the official representative of the company in Moldova.
Concerning the corporation type changing to a public one from the close, Tugolukova said it was made for "expanding possibilities to attract new investors and to develop the business".
"The stocks appearance at an open market is a positive factor for a bank, as well as for any other company: first of all, there is created a possibility to assess the stock market price; in the second place, the bank becomes more open for investment; in the 3rd place, it stimulates the further business development. The current bank activity's financial indices guarantee dividends, which considerably exceed the rate revenues from deposits. Thus and so, the banks stockholders now consider the additional stock emission possibility and their free trade at an open market", the Executive Board representative said.
According to November data, GazPromBank ranked 3rd in the Transnistrian banking system in order of the assets amount - about 990 million rubles (US$99 million), where 262 million of them are of the high liquidity. The bank credit portfolio is 495.7 million rubles, and the deposit portfolio is 455 million.
