U.S. company to purchase equipment and services for MCC Moldova foundation

The Booz Allen Hamilton company of the United States will purchase equipment and other property, works and services for the Millennium Challenge Corporation Moldova Foundation so as to embark on works within the MCC Impact Program, the governmental press service reported.

Last Friday, the Foundation's Supervisory Board held its 4th meeting and approved a contract with a purchasing agent within the Booz Allen Hamilton, along with draft contracts with Moldova-Agroindbank that will be acting as administrator of the Foundation's accounts.

On that meeting, Supervisory Board members, including Moldovan Prime Minister Vladimir Filat, State Minister Victor Bodiu, Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Anatol Salaru, considered questions of implementation of the Compact program in Moldova in conformity with the Agreement on grants concluded between the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Republic of Moldova.

Foundation Executive Director Valentina Badrajan said the drafts of these contracts have been drawn up according to standard requirements established by the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and selection procedure will be transparent and competition-based.

MCC's new Director for Moldova Leslie McSaig congratulated the Supervisory Board members on the Compact Program launching as from this past September 1. He said the commitments, stipulated in the above-mentioned Agreement on grants concerning the preliminary steps due to Compact Program works' beginning, have been carried out in due time. The new country director expressed hope the Program will be carried out successfully within 5 years.
