Victoriabank starts 2011 year with triple growth of revenues


The Victoriabank well-known Moldovan bank has started the new 2011 year with a triple growth of revenues it had, according to the 2010 banking activity results.

Head of the bank Natalia Politov-Cangas said to your Infotag correspondent that the Victoriabank revenues exceeded 191 million lei last year.

"The assets went up to 7.047 billion from 5.977 billion lei, or up 17.9%. The joint stock went up to 870 million from 849 million lei within a year, in spite of the payment of 170 million lei dividends, as well as the growth of the authorized capital to 100 million from 32 million lei", the bank top manager said.

The bank assets profitability (ROA) reached 3.05% against 1.19% in 2009, the capital profitability (ROE) - 23.14% against 7.91%.

"The bank managed to reach this high profitability level mostly due to the efficient governing of assets and liabilities, saving and efficient use of financial and material assets", Natalia Politov-Cangas said.

Victoriabank is one of the few Moldovan banks, whose non-interest yield exceeds the non-interest expenses (positive non-interest margin). The exceeding index reached 16 million lei in 2010 thanks to the improved client serving and increase amount of provided banking services.

The current and long-term liquidity of the bank still exceeds considerably the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) standards. As of December 31, 2010, the current liquidity level reached 38.41%, going down 0.18 percentage points against the beginning of the year, while the standard is at least 20%.

"The long-term liquidity reached 0.62 points in comparison to 0.82 in the beginning of the year, while the standard is up to 1", experts of the Credit-Profit company said.

According to their data, the amount of discounts for credit losses went up inconsiderably to 8.77% in the end of 2010 against 8.31% in the beginning of the year. At the same time, the amount of unfavorable credits went down 20.5%.

In the issue, the first private financial institution of Moldova, Victoriabank, has ended the 2010 year with the 191.7 million revenues, which exceeds by 2.9 times the analogous index of 2009.
