Vitalie Iurcu replaces Gheorghe Ursachi at Moldtelecom
Ex-Director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) Vitalie Iurcu headed the Moldtelecom state enterprise from July 1.
He replaced Georghe Ursachi, who was the Moldtelecom Director General from 2002.
Moldtelecom employees say that it is the first time, when the enterprise Director is not a specialist in the communication field. They do not know, what was the reason for the deposition of Ursachi, who worked at this enterprise from the 1980s.
Moldtelecom occupies the second place in the list of the largest joint stock companies of Moldova after Moldovagaz. In 2008 the volume of sales of the enterprise exceeded 2.621 billion lei, the profit constituted 399 million lei.
Vitalie Iurcu is 37 years old. He is an economist in education. He worked in international projects, financed by the USAID, the World Bank, TACIS in the field of finance and consulting (he is the founder of an individual enterprise "Iurcu Vitalie"). He is a member of the Fincombank Council.
