Government distributes resources of road fund
On Wednesday the Government distributed 209.4 million lei, envisaged by the budget-2008 for the Road Fund (in 2007 - 196 million lei) and approved the program of works, which must be executed at the cost of these financial resources.
It is planned to use 195 million lei for the repair and maintenance of public roads and 14.4 million lei – for the financing of the Trafic Auto Internaţional (though a week ago the Government approved a Resolution on the re-organization of this institution). Minister of Transport and Roads Vasile Ursu said that a capital repair of the Soroca-Drochia-Costesti- the Romanian border road section was envisaged. Small and medium repair of the Otaci-Edinet, Soroca-Moghilev Podolsky, Floresti-Nicolaevca- Singerei, Hincesti-Palanca-the Ukrainian border, and Briceni-Larga-Chelmenti roads will be carried out. Eight million lei will be allocated for the works on planting bushes and trees in the road protection zone, 10 million lei are designed for providing the traffic security and 20 million lei – for acquiring snow-cleaning machinery and combating icy conditions of roads. It is planned to allocate 5 million lei for designing works. The approved Resolution fixes a 10% profitability ceiling for contract organizations on road maintenance and a 7% profitability ceiling for repair works. For transport organizations the ceiling is 20 and 15%. Ursu remarked that the road repair and construction is the priority for the Government and in 2008 the European road program will be launched and executed at the cost of credits from the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank. // "Новости-Молдова" Publication date: 13 March 2008 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- Moldova will receive three credits worth $30m from World Bank - Budget revenues grow slowly - Daily revenues to state budget - The World Bank and ROSSTA confirm that Moldova registers the biggest price raises - Mof satisfied with execution of budget - 2007 - In 2007 fiscal revenues to consolidated budget amounted over 12 bn lei - Economic growth pace in Moldova to reach 6.8% in 2008, according to World Bank - Draft of municipal budget adopted in first reading - South America opening new regional bank - Analysis: Reflections on draft budget law for 2008 Latest news
