Moldova receives first 1.5 thousand tons of humanitarian assistance from Russia
The first train loaded with wheat, granted to Moldova by the Russian Government for overcoming the aftereffects of the last-year drought, arrived on Wednesday in Chisinau, 1.5 thousand tons of food grain were unloaded in the Chisinau enterprise of bread products.
Russian Ambassador to Moldova Valery Kuzmin said at the ceremony of transferring cargo that all in all, the Russian Government will grant 15 thousand tons of food grain and 4 thousand tons of fodder grain, which will arrive to Moldova in the near time. The grain will be distributed in the entire republic by the offices of the Agency of Material Resources, State Procurement and Humanitarian Assistance. Its Director Ion Turcanu has appreciated highly Russia’s assistance, and stressed the wheat high quality (23% of the gluten content) that will allow making high-quality flour and other bread products from this wheat. Earlier Russia sent two airplanes, loaded with buckwheat and canned meat for Gagauzia, which suffered from the drought most of all.
