NBM approves new Victoriabank president

The Administrative Board  of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) approved Natalia Politova-Cangas as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the  Victoriabank joint-stock company.

Until the present time Politova was the First Vice-Chairperson of the Victoriabank Board of Directors and from the beginning of November 2007, when the Board of Directors deposed Victor Turcan from this post, Natalia Politova-Cangas acted as the Chairperson of the bank’s Board of Directors.

She came to Victoriabank, when the bank was surviving its hard times from the viewpoint of the moral-psychological climate. The bank’s shareholders associated with her coming a hope for the atmosphere change in the Victoriabank collective, which must lead the bank to new achievements under any circumstances. The results of the bank’s activities for 2007 testify to the fact that the bank succeeded in having preserved the leading position in the Moldova banking system.

According to the banks reliability rating, made up by the “B&F”-Profit, in 2007, Victoriabank took the first position in the banking system. For a year the bank’s assets increased by 460 million lei (56.5%) – up to 4.1 billion lei (USD380.2 million),  the deposit portfolio - by 65.2% - up to 3.36 billion lei, the credit portfolio - by 87.3% - up to 2.7 million lei.
