In March 2008 the average salary in Moldova was of 2,371 lei, by 131 lei more against the previous month, informed the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The NBS made public the monthly report which specifies that in the budget sector the average remuneration in March was of 1,861 lei, by 50 lei more, while in the real sector the average salary increased by 166 lei and amounted to 2,639 lei.

The NBS also specifies that in March the biggest average salary of 5,061.6 lei was earned, as usually, by the employees in the financial sector, by over 60 lei more, followed by the salaries of the workers in the electricity and thermal energy, gas and water enterprises of 4,040.9 lei. The lowest salaries were registered in the agricultural sector with 1,230 lei, education with 1,632.1 lei, and health and social assistance sector with 2,101 lei. // BASA-Press
