Ribnita Metallurgic Plant is exporter no.1 of Moldova, according to the top of biggest exporters published by a specialized magazine

Ribnita Metallurgic Plant is the biggest exporter of Moldova, according to TOP-50 Biggest Exporters published by the analysis and rating magazine STANDARD FINANCIAR, based on the data supplied by the Customs Service.

The Plant in Ribnita carried out exports estimated to about 400 mln USD in 2007. On the other hand, the TOP-50 developed based on the data of the National Bureau of Statistics that does not take into consideration the data supplied by the Transnistrian companies, the biggest Moldovan exporter in 2007 is the Balti-based Plant of Vegetal Oils “Floarea Soarelui”.

The TOP-50 developed based on the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, also includes the companies Metalferos SA, CMC-Knauf ÎM SA, Farm Expo SRL, Natur Bravo SA, Moldabela SRL, Zorile SA, Ionel SA, Moldarton SA and Trans Oil Ltd SRL.

At the same time, the TOP-50, conducted based on the data supplied by the Customs Service which taken into consideration the data supplied by the Transnistrian companies, includes besides the Ribnita Metallurgic Plant, two Transnistrian companies more, the State Enterprises Tirotex and the Cement Factory Ribnita SA, as well as the companies Air Moldova, Floarea Soarelui SA, Metalferos SA, CMC-Knauf SA, Farm Expo SRL, Natur Bravo SA and Moldabela SRL.

TOP-50 Biggest Exporters is part of an ample analysis entitled “Foreign Trade: Opportunities, Offers, Quality” conducted by the business consultancy company BIS Group, headed by former Minister of Economy and Trade, Valeriu Lazar, for the magazine STANDARD FINACIAR. The tops took into consideration the data supplied by the Customs Service and National Bureau of Statistics for 2007, 2006 and 2005.

The authors of the analysis state that the level of export concentration in favour of the companies of two traditional sectors – food and spirits, and textiles – stands out and seems to be exaggerated. // BASA-Press
